Category Group Setup

Note: All instructions assume that you are logged into OpenWater as an admin, and that you are starting on your instance dashboard.

Category Groups allow you to change field display and requirements based on which category is chosen. The best example of this would be an abstracts category versus a poster category. You wouldn't collect the same data, so category groups allow you to choose which fields are shown, as well as managing which fields are required. You will see 3 buttons available:

  • Add Category Group

    This button allows you to add an individual category group. When you select to add a category group, you will be able to choose a name and description.

  • Export to CSV

    This button allows you to export your category groups to a CSV file.

  • Export to XLS

    This button allows you to add an indivyidual category group. When you select to add a category group, you will be able to choose a name and description.
